I'm not spoiled here, I just get what I deserve. One sunny day in September I followed my pack leader over to Alexandria, Virginia for the 2000 Canine Games. Boy was it exciting. From the moment I arrived the pack leader was abound with excitement, and I could barely keep my tongue in I was so enthused! Here are a few action shots of me meeting some other locals in the tournament... it's always exciting checking other dogs out!
And why not a massage
first?
First Event, fetching
balls out of a... hey there's water in here!
Second Event, something
about agility?
Some Doggie Ice Cream,
and then over for "Dog Bowling!"
What the heck is "Dog Bowling" anyways? It thankfully isn't what my pack leader first thought. It's more of a slalom, and I mastered this one, coming in 7th place out of hundreds of dogs. And to boot I didn't knock a single pin over!
Sixth event, the
obstacle course!
This event is also a bunch of fun. Basically I got to run my pack leader all over the place!
Seventh event,
the "Distraction Dash!"
Well this one had me all chuffed! Basically, the goal is to try and run from one end of the course to the other without succumbing to the temptations within. First, there are hundreds of various dog biscuits littered throughout the course, and various toys to play with in there too. Now, here's the clincher. There is a sweet little person called a brownie in the center calling my name an d tempting me with biscuits as well. I placed pretty well, because the pack leader serves me better than any of these toys!

My pack leader insists that I mention how much I enjoy fetching tennis balls, and apparently how good I am at this excercise. I placed 9th overall out of more than 400 competitors!

This is a good friend of mine and my pack leader, and she calls herself Sherri. You will find her in many commercials and working her way to a wonderful acting career. I think these pictures really show her best, canine-friendly, side. The goal of this competition is for me to run circles around her while she collects fake poop with a scoop and carefully places them in a bucket, and time is important. I think I did my job admirably well!

This event was pretty much fun for me. All I had to do was run to my pack leader, with not even a single distraction! Okay, so I was beaten by a dalmation with a backpack, but I'm bred to fetch, not run!

Well, the goal of this one is to catch tennis balls, and I placed third overall for this one, catching 21 tennis balls in 30 seconds! Look at me go!

Now I really don't know the purpose of this race. As far as I can tell, it's just a silly bit of fun for my pack leader. He put on a bunch of fashinably cool accessories, packed a beach bag full of stuff off of a rickety table, and
Some other pics of wonderful friends I met that day! Someone should tell the twins on the left that Halloween isn't for a few months yet.
